Hm... dots and names have 5 colors:
* Lime : neutral NPCs
* Green: Allied NPCs
* Red: Hostile NPCs.
* Blue: Players not in parties in outposts.
* Dark Blue: Players in parties in outposts.
And when a dot is selected, its border is colored yellow.
With you idea, the border would have a different color depening on profession... but... there are 10 professions.
Profession colors go like this:
* Warrior : Yellow
* Ranger: Light green/Lime
* Monk: Blue
* Necromancer: Green/Dark green.
* Mesmer: Pink/Magenta
* Elementalist: Red
* Assassin: Purple/Lavender
* Ritualist: Cyan/Viridian
* Paragon: Orange/Pale yellow
* Dervish: Gray/Brown
That's basically all 7 basic colors with extras.
With all those colors, it would be a mess to check things out. How do we note the currently selected dot? With white? White is hard to tell from yellow.
10 professions use a wide range of colors.
It's hard to make this work...
